My father knows that my mother uses the amulets of fortune-tellers due to the problems between her and my father, but he does not care about it on the grounds that he recites the Mu'awwidhat and the Verse

The questioner : My father knows that my mother uses the amulets of fortune-tellers, but he does not care about it on the grounds that he recites the Mu'awwidhat and the Verse of the Throne, and that she will not be able to affect him. It is known that my mother uses these amulets due to the problems between her and my father. What is the ruling in this matter? May you be rewarded.

The Shaykh : If the amulet that the sick person hangs up is from the Qur'an and permissible supplications, the scholars (may Allah have mercy on them) differed on the permissibility of hanging it up:
Some of them prohibited it, and some of them permitted it. However, if the amulet contains writings whose nature and meaning are unknown, it is not permissible to wear it, due to the possibility that it contains matters of shirk (associating partners with Allah) that we are not aware of.
