Explanation of the Book of Foods-03b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Qutaybah ibn Sa'id narrated to us, and Ya'qub narrated to us from Abu Hazim, who said:
I asked Sahl ibn Sa'd and said, "Did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) eat sifted grain?" Sahl said, "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not see sifted grain from the time Allah sent him until Allah took him." I then asked, "Did you have sieves in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?" He said, "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not see a sieve from the time Allah sent him until Allah took him." I said, "How did you eat barley without sifting it?" He said, "We would grind it and blow on it, so what flew away flew away, and what remained we winnowed and ate."
