The reciter: Abu Nu'aym narrated to us, and Saif ibn Abi Sulayman narrated to us, saying: I heard Mujahid say: Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla narrated to me:
That they were with Hudhayfah, and he asked for water, so a Zoroastrian gave him water. When he placed the cup in his hand, he threw it at him and said: "If I had not forbidden him more than once or twice—meaning, as if he were saying, I did not do this, but I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Do not wear silk or brocade, and do not drink from vessels of gold or silver, and do not eat from their plates, for they are for them in this world and for us in the Hereafter.'"
