The Shaykh : The Evidence: The hadith of Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman, who is the famous keeper of the secret to whom the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) confided the names of some of the hypocrites, says: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: As-Sunan al-Kubra lil-Nasa'i 47:36".
"Do not drink": The "la" in "la" is a prohibitive particle, and the proof that it is prohibitive and not negative is the deletion of the nun, which is a sign of jussive mood. Yes.
And his saying:Sunan Abi Dawud 3723Sahih (Al-Albani) means their containers, As-Sunan al-Kubra lil-Nasa'i 47:36 means: the plates of gold and silver. Then, as was his custom, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) generally explained the wisdom, saying: Sahih al-Bukhari 5633 This is the reasoning, meaning: that in this world, your luxury does not reach the point where you eat and drink from vessels of gold and silver. Who is this for? It is for the disbelievers who enjoy themselves in this world, just as livestock enjoy themselves, and the Fire is their abode. As for you, delay the matter; delay it until you eat and drink from them forever, and that is in the Hereafter when the believers enter Paradise, may Allah make me and you among them. For they eat from plates of gold and silver and also drink from their flasks. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: So this eating and drinking from these precious vessels is not for the believer. This is the applicable, consistent reasoning. As for the reasoning of some scholars that this causes the two currencies to become scarce for people, because the two currencies are of gold and silver. What is the one made of gold called?
The student: A dinar.
The Shaykh : A dinar, and the one made of silver is a dirham. They said: if they were made into vessels, the currency would become scarce for people. Some of them say: because if we used these vessels, the hearts of the poor would be broken. This is also a defective reasoning, and we will clarify that, if Allah wills. And some said that it involves arrogance and extravagance, and this is also refuted.
Well, as for the first one, which is scarcity, it is said: this cause necessitates that we forbid the wearing of gold and silver by men and women, because that is what? It makes the two currencies scarce for people, especially in countries with weak economies. And it is known that gold is lawful for women and silver is lawful for men.
To those who say that it breaks the hearts of the poor, we say: then forbid everything that benefits the heart of the poor. If you see a rich man, or an emir, or a minister riding in a luxurious car, say: this is forbidden, because the poor man says: why is he riding in a ... nice and good car, while I only have a broken Mazda? His heart is certainly broken, is it not? So forbid them from riding in that. Houses too: one man's houses are like nests, and the other's are luxurious palaces; forbid them. Also clothing: a poor man's clothes are patched, and another's are from the most luxurious permissible clothing; we say: forbid that too, because it breaks the heart of the poor, and you say so.
What remains for us is extravagance and arrogance. Extravagance and arrogance may be more severe in things other than gold and silver vessels. Vessels of diamond and precious gems, which are higher than gold and silver, are more arrogant and more extravagant, and yet they are not forbidden in themselves. Gold and silver are forbidden in themselves, even if it is just a cup, and this man has millions of millions; it is not considered extravagance and he does not care about it. We say: this is forbidden. So the cause mentioned by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is the consistent cause that is not refuted. Who can say that gold and silver are for the disbelievers in the Hereafter? No one can. As for in this world, they say: they are for them, for them in this world and for you in the Hereafter. This is the defective cause.
The reason Hudhayfah narrated this hadith is that he was in his house or his palace, and a dehqan (landowner) from the dehqans came to him. Yes, he called for water, and the dehqan brought him water in a silver vessel. He took the vessel and threw it at him; he threw it at the dehqan and said to the group with him: "I inform you that I have forbidden him to serve me in it, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Sahih Muslim 2067g" And pay attention to his saying "I have forbidden him to serve me in it," because a matter will come to us, if Allah wills, that follows from it.
The important thing is that Hudhayfah narrated this hadith for this reason, and perhaps he narrated it in another place, I do not know, but this is what came in Sahih Muslim.
Do not drink from vessels of gold and silver, and do not eat from their plates, for they are for them in this world, and for you in the Hereafter
لا تشربوا في آنية الذهب والفضة ولا تأكلوا في صحافهما، فإنها لهم في الدنيا، ولكم في الآخرة"Do not drink": The "la" in "la" is a prohibitive particle, and the proof that it is prohibitive and not negative is the deletion of the nun, which is a sign of jussive mood. Yes.
And his saying:

في آنية الذّهب والفضّةand do not eat from their plates
ولا تأكلوا في صحافهماfor these things are for them (unbelievers) in this world and for you in the Hereafter.
فإنّها لهم في الدّنيا ولكم في الآخرةTwo gardens of gold, their vessels and what is in them, and two gardens of silver, their vessels and what is in them
