What is the ruling on performing 'Umrah after Hajj?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Many questions have been raised here regarding 'Umrah after Hajj and its ruling.

The Shaykh : 'Umrah after Hajj has no basis in the Sunnah. All the Companions who were with the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him)—those who performed Hajj alone, those who combined 'Umrah and Hajj, and those who performed them together—none of them ever performed 'Umrah after Hajj. Therefore, we regret that our brother pilgrims now go out to al-Tan'īm to perform 'Umrah. When we ask them why,
they say: "This 'Umrah is for my father, tomorrow for my mother, the day after for my grandfather, and the one after that for my grandmother, then for my uncle and aunt, then for my maternal uncle and aunt, and so on." Who said this?
By Allah, this is not the guidance of the Salaf; rather, it is a waste of effort unless Allah wills otherwise. For this reason, 'Ata ibn Abi Rabah (may Allah have mercy on him), who was one of the scholars of the people of Makkah, said: "I do not know whether these people who go out to al-Tan'īm will be rewarded or will be burdened with sin". "Rewarded" means they will receive reward, or "burdened with sin" because they contradicted the Sunnah. A person should follow the righteous Salaf, not follow desires or the common people. So we feel deep regret.
Today, in the morning and evening, most of those performing sa'y are in a state of ihram. Glory be to Allah. You also find someone in a state of ihram who has already shaved his head until he is bald. I do not know what he will shave for 'Umrah after this!
Therefore, it is obligatory for students of knowledge to alert the general public that this is an error and that it is not the guidance of the Salaf. As for your relatives whom you wish to benefit, make du'a for them as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) guided you in his saying:
When a man dies, his deeds come to an end, except for three: A continuous charity, knowledge by which people derive benefit, pious son who prays for him. إذا مات الإنسان انقطع عمله إلاّ من ثلاث: صدقة جارية، أو علم ينتفع به، أو ولد صالح يدعو له
