A girl who is twenty years old and has not fasted since fasting became obligatory upon her because her family did not make her aware of or educate her about the necessity of fasting

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The questioner says: She says that she is a girl who is twenty years old, and since fasting became obligatory upon me, I was at an age where I did not fast because I was not aware of it and my family did not educate me about the necessity of fasting. I have committed to fasting since I was thirteen years old, but what confuses me is: do I have to make up the fasts or not?

The Shaykh : If you make up the fasts you left off after reaching puberty, that is better. If you do not make them up, it is looked at: if you were in a vast place far from scholars and students of knowledge, and it did not occur to you that fasting is obligatory upon you before completing fifteen years of age, then you do not have to make them up. But if you were in a country with scholars and students of knowledge, but you were negligent in not asking, then you have to make them up.
