What must a husband do when entering upon his wife?

The questioner : O esteemed Shaykh, is there a report from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he placed his hand on the forelock of one of his wives?
And what is obligatory for one who enters upon his wife on the night of the first entry?

The Shaykh : It is reported from the saying of the Messenger (may the prayer and peace of Allah be upon him) that when a person takes possession of a mount, marries a wife, or something similar: , but perhaps if a person did this the first time he entered upon his wife, it might cause her to recoil. So let him hold her head as if he wants to kiss her, and let him say this dhikr (remembrance) in secret, so that the benefit is achieved without harm.
