The Shaykh : Now, let us return to the hadith of Ibn 'Abbas. Dhamad arrived, and he was from the Azd Shanu'ah, and he used to perform ruqyah for this wind. "Al-rih" (the wind) means madness, that is, possession (al-mass). It means he had a recitation he would recite over the patient afflicted with possession, and he would be cured by the permission of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). He used to perform ruqyah for this wind. He heard the foolish people of Makkah saying, "Muhammad is a madman," because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was accused of madness, just as his brother messengers were accused. Allah the Exalted said: [Adh-Dhariyat 51:52]. He said: Mishkat al-Masabih 5860. The man believed that Muhammad was a madman, and for this reason he wished to see Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), hoping that Allah might cure him through his hands. He said, "So he met him and said, 'O Muhammad, I perform ruqyah for this wind, and Allah cures through my hands whom He wills.'" This indicates that the man was a believer. He performed ruqyah, but he did not attribute the cure to his ruqyah, but to Allah (Mighty and Majestic).
: This means, "Do you have any need so I can perform ruqyah for you, perhaps Allah will cure you?" Based on what? Based on the fact that he was a madman. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 868. And how good it is to recite this sermon over those afflicted with possession, or over those who recite over the people of possession.
Sunan Ibn Majah 1892: The explanation of this has been mentioned previously.
Sahih Muslim 868 Who said it: Dhamad was impressed by these words. "Repeat these words to me." Sahih Muslim 868 Who said it: Dhamad. Sahih Muslim 868 to the end. He mentioned three categories of people. The first: the soothsayers (kahin), plural of kahun. The kahun is one who informs about the unseen in the future. This is the kahun, and this is the original definition. The origin of these soothsayers is that they have companions from the jinn who eavesdrop on the heavens, and they bring what they heard from the heavens to these soothsayers to inform them. The soothsayer then adds a hundred lies to it and speaks about it. When what matches his words comes to pass, people are deceived by him and think that he knows the unseen. As for the one who informs about something that has already happened, not something in the future, this is called an 'iraf (diviner), because he claims knowledge. The sorcerers (sihhar), plural of sahir, are those who cast spells on people. Sorcery consists of knots, ruqyah, and spitting, which the sorcerer uses. But these ruqyah, knots, and spitting are utilized by the jinn, so that the jinni harms the bewitched person, either in his mind, or in his body, or in his soul, according to what the sorcerer does. The third: the poets. The poets are also sorcerers through the path of eloquence, because some eloquence is sorcery.
He said:Sahih Muslim 868 This means that these words have a strong and far-reaching impact. "Na'us al-bahr" (the deep depths of the sea) is its depth and its deep waters. This is not close to the shores; this is far from the shores. The meaning is that these words had a profound effect.
Sahih Muslim 868, The one who said "Give me your hand" is Dhamad, because it became clear to him that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was not a madman, but rather truthful in what he said regarding prophethood.
Sahih Muslim 868, Because he was a leader among them and a chief, so he pledged allegiance on their behalf.
Sahih Muslim 868 From me: A vessel used for purification. This is evidence that they took something trivial. He said, "Return it, for these are the people of Dhamad." And the discussion of its benefits will come, if Allah wills.
Similarly, there came not to those before them any messenger except that they said, "A magician or a madman."
كذلك ما أتى الذين من قبلهم من رسول إلا قالوا ساحرٌ أو مجنونIf I could only see this man, perhaps God might heal him at my hand.
لو أني رأيت هذا الرجل لعل الله يشفيه على يديDo you have any need?
فهل لكPraise is due to Allah, we praise Him, ask His help; and he whom Allah guides aright there is none to lead him astray, and he who is led astray there is none to guide him, and I bear testimony to the fact that there is no god but Allah, He is One, having no partner with Him, and that Muhammad is His Servant and Messenger
إن الحمد لله نحمد ونستعينه، من يهده الله فلا مضلَّ له، ومن يُضلِل فلا هادي له، وأشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، وأن محمداً عبده ورسولهAl-hamdu lillahi nahmadhu wa nasta`inuhu

Now after this he (Dimad) said: Repeat these words of yours
من يهده الله فلا مضلَّ له، ومن يُضلِل فلا هادي له، وأشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، وأن محمداً عبده ورسوله أما بعد قال فقال: أعد عليّ كلماتكand the messenger of Allah (ﷺ) repeated these to him thrice; and he said
فأعادهنّ عليه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، ثلاث مرّات، قال فقالI have heard the words of soothsayers and the words of magicians, and the words of poets, but I have never heard such words as yours
فقال : لقد سمعت قول الكَهنة، وقول السّحرة، وقول الشّعراء، فما سمعت مثل كلماتك هؤلاءAnd the words of the sorcerers.
