The reciter: And Muhammad ibn Rafi' narrated to me, and Hajjaj ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, and Layth narrated to us, from 'Aqil, from Ibn Shihab, that he said: 'Urwah ibn al-Zubayr informed me, saying: I asked 'A'ishah, and he related the hadith in a similar manner, and he said in the hadith: When they asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about that, they said: O Messenger of Allah, we used to feel hesitant about circumambulating al-Safa and al-Marwah. So Allah, Mighty and Majestic, revealed: "Indeed, al-Safa and al-Marwah are among the symbols of Allah. So there is no blame on one who circumambulates them or performs tawaf between them." 'A'ishah said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) established the practice of circumambulating between them, so no one has the right to leave off the circumambulation between them..
