The Book of Hajj-10b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: And Harimah ibn Yahya narrated to us, informing us that Ibn Wahb informed us, and Yunus informed me, from Ibn Shihab, from Urwah ibn al-Zubayr, that Aisha informed him: That the Ansar, before they embraced Islam, along with the Ghassan, would declare their intention for al-Manat. They felt hesitant about circumambulating between al-Safa and al-Marwah, for that was a custom among their fathers: whoever declared his intention for al-Manat did not circumambulate between al-Safa and al-Marwah. They asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about this when they embraced Islam, so Allah the Mighty and Majestic revealed regarding this: "Indeed, al-Safa and al-Marwah are among the symbols of Allah. So whoever performs Hajj or 'Umrah and circumambulates between them, there is no blame on him. And whoever does good voluntarily, then indeed Allah is Appreciative and All-Knowing.".
