The questioner : They also say that shaving the head is done for women, given that their hair has dandruff or flakes; what is the ruling on that? May Allah guide you.

The Shaykh : Shaving the head for a woman is permissible if there is a dire necessity, such as if she has wounds on her head that she cannot treat except by shaving her head; in that case, there is nothing wrong with it.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : As for without a dire necessity, the scholars say that it is forbidden for her to shave her head, because that is imitating the disbelievers, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the women who imitate men.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Yes.
