The questioner : Also, he says: We request clarification of the supplication a person recites when he intends to travel, because I hear people saying something, but they do not raise their voices. And although I am eager to listen to them, I have not been able to learn it. I hope that if it is present in your memory, you will tell us. May Allah guide you.

The Shaykh : We say first: When the traveler mounts his mount and settles on its back, let him remember the favor of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) in his heart and reflect on this great favor regarding the creatures He has made easy for him to reach a destination that he could not reach except with great difficulty. Then he says: "Glory is to Him who subjected this to us, and we could not have subjected it to ourselves. And indeed, to our Lord we will return."

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : He says Allahu Akbar three times and praises Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), saying: "O Allah, I have wronged myself, so forgive me, for there is no one who forgives sins except You." He also supplicates with whatever is facilitated from the transmitted supplications, such as: "O Allah, make our journey easy for us and shorten the distance for us. O Allah, provide us with righteousness and piety in this journey, and from deeds that You are pleased with. O Allah, You are the Guardian of my family and my wealth." And he supplicates with what came in the hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Yes.
