The questioner : His third question states that he is eighteen years old and that he began praying this year, but that when he walks on the road, he looks at the girls he sees on the road. Is that permissible for him? Please advise us; may Allah reward you.
The Shaykh : First, it is not permissible for you to delay prayer until the age of eighteen.
The questioner : Yes.
The Shaykh : Rather, it is obligatory for you to pray from the time you reached puberty. This is one point. However, the stronger position in our view is that you are not required to make up what was missed. Rather, you should rectify your deeds, repent to your Lord, and seek forgiveness for your sin. As for your looking at the girls, this is not permissible. Rather, it is obligatory for you to lower your gaze. Allah the Exalted said:[An-Nur 24:30] And know that whenever you follow your self in its desire to look at women, it will not find rest for you, nor will your mind be at peace. You will always be a prisoner of Satan and struck by one of his poisoned arrows.
The questioner : Yes.
The Shaykh : Perhaps this arrow will strike you until you fall into the great prohibition, as mentioned in the hadith: So perhaps you will fall into the greatest zina, and at that time you will incur a punishment.
The questioner : Yes.
The Shaykh : Yes.

Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what they do.
