Explanation of the Book of Prayer-03

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"And from Umm Salimah (may Allah be pleased with her), who said:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came to my house after offering 'Asr prayer and offered two Rak'a, then I asked him about that and he replied, "I was kept busy (and failed to pray) the two (Sunnah) Rak'a after Zuhr prayer, so I offered them now." I asked him, "Should we offer them if we miss them?" He (ﷺ) replied, "No."
Bulugh al-Maram 2:30
Ahmad narrated it. Abu Dawud also narrated it from A'ishah with the same meaning"
His statement: "And from Umm Salimah" Umm Salimah is one of the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married her after the death of her husband, and the story is well known. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Abu Salimah, he found that he had died and his eyes were fixed, so he closed his eyes (peace and blessings be upon him) and said:
O Allah! Forgive Abu Salamah, raise his status among (Your) rightly guided servants, make his grave spacious, and fill it with light for him, and be his successor in taking good care of his descendants whom he has left behind, (and make them pious).
Bulugh al-Maram 538
Five supplications, some of which we knew in this world and some of which we did not know, but the one that was answered, we saw, and He favored us with an answer to what we did not see. May He replace him in his descendants. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) married her after the death of her husband Abu Salimah. And she (may Allah be pleased with her) had heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say:
When a person suffers from a calamity and utters: 'Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un. Allahumma ujurni fi musibati, wakhluf li khairan minha (We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return. O Allah! Compensate me in my affliction, recompense my loss and give me something better in exchange for it), then Allah surely compensates him with reward and better substitute.
Riyad as-Salihin 921
And she used to say: "Who is better than Abu Salimah?" She said this without doubt in the words of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), but consider who this one will be who is better than Abu Salimah. Otherwise, she was certain that Allah would replace him for her with someone better than Abu Salimah. But think: Abu Bakr and 'Umar, who? It was the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) who replaced Abu Salimah in his descendants. His son and daughter were raised by whom? By the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) in his care. We only mentioned this to make it clear that when a person supplicates during calamities, it is answered. Therefore, when some of the people of Abu Salimah's household made a commotion, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Do not pray for yourself anything but good, for the angels utter Amin to what you say.
Sunan Abi Dawud 3118Sahih (Al-Albani)
And he said this because in the pre-Islamic age of ignorance, when a person died, what did they call out? "Woe and great calamity, and great calamity, and woe," and the like. Umm Salimah (may Allah be pleased with her) was among the most intelligent and wisest of women, and her story with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) during the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah is well known. She said:
Indeed, the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed the 'Asr prayer, then entered her house and prayed two rak'ahs.
His statement:
Prayed the 'Asr prayer.
means: the 'Asr prayer. And
Entered her house.
the word "her house" is attributed to her. So was it attributed to her by way of ownership or by way of exclusivity? Yes, let us look: did the wives of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) inherit these houses? Did they remain in them after his death? So it appears, and Allah knows best, that it was her house by way of ownership, and that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) granted his wives ownership of that. This is if it is not established that they, after his death, placed them in the public treasury, because the Messenger does not leave an inheritance after his death. May Allah reward you.
and offered two Rak'a, then I asked him about that and he replied, "I was kept busy (and failed to pray) the two (Sunnah) Rak'a after Zuhr prayer, so I offered them now."
Bulugh al-Maram 2:30
"I was occupied," and what occupied him was a delegation. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked at the benefits and prioritized the higher one over what is below it. So his receiving these delegations to unite their hearts and bring love from them for him and from him for them is better than his praying the rawatib, whether with the intention of making them up or without the intention of making them up.
I said: "Do we make them up if they are missed?" He said: "No."
And her meaning was: Do we make them up at this time? He said:
No. لا
Because this time is a time of prohibition, and they, meaning the two rak'ahs, are voluntary, and there is no reason that permits praying them in a time of prohibition, because it is possible to pray them after Maghrib. But this is something specific to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), and it will come, if Allah wills, in the benefits. Yes.
