The questioner : Is there a guiding word for the youth regarding the haste of marriage and their protection, O honorable Shaykh?
The Shaykh : Yes, there is no word better than the word of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), where he said:Mishkat al-Masabih 3080.
And I advise the youth to hasten in getting married, especially in this age where the causes of tempting trials have multiplied. Therefore, you find many young people suffering from the hardship of bachelorhood, and were it not for the faith they have in Allah (Mighty and Majestic), they would go out seeking fornication.
Then I say: If the young man has money sufficient for his marriage, then that is what is required, that he marries with it. And if he does not have money, it is obligatory upon his father to marry him off if he is able to do so, just as it is obligatory upon him to provide for him with food, drink, clothing, and housing. It is not permissible for anyone whom Allah has enriched, whose sons have reached the age of marriage, and who have requested it from him, either by their explicit words or by their actions indicating the request for marriage, it is not permissible for him to refuse. Rather, it is obligatory upon him to marry them off. And if he does not do so, he is sinful, and Allah will not bless him in his wealth.
Some ignorant fathers say to their sons when they request marriage from them, using the common and unjust proverb: "No one scratches your back but your own fingernail", meaning you must obtain the means to marry yourself, otherwise I will not marry you off.
This is forbidden for them as long as they are able and the sons are unable.

Young man, those of you who can support a wife should marry, for it keeps you from looking at strange women and preserves you from immorality; but those who cannot should devote themselves to fasting, for it is a means of suppressing sexual desire.
