The phenomenon of young people delaying marriage

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A message was sent from the State of Qatar by listener (T. 'A.), our brother, discussing an important issue, namely: the delay of young people in getting married. He says: What is the ruling in the Shari'ah regarding a person who delays marriage, knowing that he is capable of marrying, but he constantly thinks about the difficulties of this life, and knowing that he is thirty-three years old?

Answer:
It is obligatory for one who is capable of marriage; this is the correct view. As long as he has a desire and lusts after marriage, it is obligatory for him to hasten to marry if he is able to do so, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the authentic hadith:
Young man, those of you who can support a wife should marry, for it keeps you from looking at strange women and preserves you from immorality; but those who cannot should devote themselves to fasting, for it is a means of suppressing sexual desire.يا معشر الشباب! من استطاع منكم الباءة؛ فليتزوج؛ فإنه أغض للبصر، وأحصن للفرج، ومن لم يستطع؛ فعليه بالصوم؛ فإنه له وجاء
Mishkat al-Masabih 3080
This contains the command (so let him marry). The correct view is that it is obligatory if he is able to afford it and he has desire. And if he fears committing zina, the command becomes even stronger.
So the conclusion is: it is obligatory for him, if he has desire and is able to marry, that he hasten and not delay. And if he fears fitnah, it is obligatory in all cases that he hasten to marry. Even an old man, if he has the ability and does not have what chastes him, it is obligatory for him to marry, even if he is an old man. It is obligatory for him to marry because the cause is present, which is the fear of fitnah.
So it is obligatory for one who has the ability to marry, whether he is an old man, a middle-aged man, or a young man, that he hasten to marry, and he has no right to delay. And if he has one wife who does not chastise him, meaning his desire is great and the one wife does not satisfy him, and he is able to marry a second, it is obligatory for him to marry the second. It is obligatory for him to marry the second, third, and fourth if he is able to do so, until he chastes himself, and until there is an increase in offspring and the Ummah through him. Even if the women do not agree, women are by their nature not to agree with what is harmful to them, but he looks at what is best, and he pleases his wife with what Allah has made easy of wealth and other things, and he is just. And that does not harm; there is no harm in her agreeing to that, and he must be just. And if he pleases them all with what Allah has made easy of wealth, then that is good upon good. And it is obligatory for them to agree and to be patient if he is just and does not wrong, but rather is just and fears Allah.
The point is that it is obligatory for men, both young and old, to marry and not to delay marriage, if they lust after marriage and have the ability. They must hasten and rush to marry, based on his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Young man, those of you who can support a wife should marry, for it keeps you from looking at strange women and preserves you from immoralityيا معشر الشباب! من استطاع منكم الباءة؛ فليتزوج؛ فإنه أغض للبصر، وأحصن للفرج
Mishkat al-Masabih 3080
He is the one for whom one wife does not provide chastity and he is in danger, fearing fitnah. It is obligatory for him to marry a second and third if he needs them, and a fourth if he needs and is able. He does not delay, and he must be just and fear Allah. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good. The reality, O Shaykh, is that the young man faces a number of problems when he wants to marry, and the most important of those problems is housing. If he lives in a collective residence with his family, with his mother and father and his brothers, some problems may occur, indeed it is certain that they will occur. So what is your guidance, O Shaykh?

Answer : Allah says:
So fear Allah as much as you are ableفَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ
[Surat al-Taghabun: 16] ...
And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way outوَمَنْ يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ مَخْرَجًا
[Surat al-Talaq: 2]. If he is able to live separately, let him live separately. Otherwise, he lives with his family, and he fears Allah as much as he is able, according to his capacity. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
