Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"And we believe that Allah the Exalted closed the messengerships with the message of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and sent him to all people, as He the Exalted said:
Say, [O Muhammad], "O mankind, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you all, [from Him] to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. There is no deity except Him; He gives life and causes death." So believe in Allah and His Messenger, the unlettered prophet, who believes in Allah and His words, and follow him that you may be guided.
[Al-A'raf 7:158]
"
.
The point is His saying:
O mankind, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you all
[Al-A'raf 7:158]
And those who said that he is a messenger only to the Arabs, did they believe in his message to the Arabs? No, they did not believe in it, because we say to them: if you believe that he is a messenger to the Arabs, then it is necessary for you to believe that he is a messenger to all the world, a messenger to all the world, because he said
It is He who has sent among the unlettered a Messenger
[Al-Jumu'ah 62:2]
. And He said:
Say, [O Muhammad], "O mankind, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you all قل يا أيها الناس إني رسول الله إليكم جميعا
[Al-A'raf 7:158]
So why do you believe him in one thing and disbelieve him in another? And it is well known that whoever believes in some and disbelieves in some has disbelieved in the whole. All right.
But where is the evidence that Allah closed the messengerships with him? His saying, the Exalted:
Muhammad is not the father of [any] one of your men, but [he is] the Messenger of Allah and last of the prophets
[Al-Ahzab 33:40]
. And this truth is that it was omitted by mistake, otherwise it should have been mentioned, because it was asked: what is the ruling? The closing of the messengerships with the message of Muhammad, so the evidence should have been mentioned.
But the evidence, as you heard just now, is
Muhammad is not the father of [any] one of your men, but [he is] the Messenger of Allah and last of the prophets
[Al-Ahzab 33:40]
.
And that he is the Seal of the Prophets is understood from the generality of the message, meaning, but by necessity. And it is more appropriate for a thing to be mentioned by direct correspondence than by necessity, otherwise there is no doubt that if we said Muhammad is a messenger to the people until the Day of Resurrection, it would necessarily mean that he is their Seal, otherwise he would be a messenger to the Seal, for example.
