Is the one who kills himself forgiven?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : How do we reconcile, O Shaykh, the fact that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) does not forgive the one who commits suicide, with the fact that a man among the Companions committed suicide during the time of the Messenger, and Allah forgave him?

The Shaykh : Who?

The questioner : I do not know, but I have heard it.

The Shaykh : You do not know, nor do you know the chain of narration, nor any book, nor who said it.
The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was brought a man who had killed himself with a spear.

The questioner : Yes, that is it.

The Shaykh : So he did not pray over him; he did not pray over him, because praying over him is intercession, but he ordered that he be prayed over, saying:
Pray over your companion صلوا على صاحبكم
or he said:
Send blessings upon him صلوا عليه
.

The questioner : Well, does this not indicate that he means a Muslim among the Muslims?

The Shaykh : A Muslim, but there is no barrier to his remaining in the Fire, as long as the Messenger says he remains in it forever.
If "forever" had not come, the matter would have been easy; it would have been like the one who killed someone else. But "forever" came, so if this wording is authentic, there is no barrier to his being interpreted.
The student: The time is up, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : The time is up, and we now have those with kinship ties.
