The questioner : I read a hadith in the book "Al-Rahmah fi al-Tibb wa al-Hikmah" by the author Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti. It is narrated from Hisham ibn al-Qabid ibn al-Harith, from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), who said: He said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said: What is the degree of authenticity of this hadith?
The Shaykh : This hadith is fabricated regarding the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); it is not authentic, but rather a lie. The signs of its fabrication are very clear. Therefore, it is not permissible for a person to rely on it, transmit it among people, or mention it, unless it is accompanied by an explanation of its fabrication and its being a lie against the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). This is because whoever spreads such false hadiths without clarifying that they are lies against the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), while knowing that they are lies against the Messenger, is one of the liars, as established from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
O Ibn Abbas, shall I give you a gift? Jibril (peace be upon him) taught me this for preservation
يا ابن عباس ألا أهدي لك هدية علمني جبريل عليه السلام إياها للحفظWrite in a basin with saffron and rose water: Surat al-Fatihah, Surat al-Hashr, Surat al-Mulk, and Surat al-Waqi'ah. Then pour over it water from Zamzam, or rainwater, or clean water. Then drink it on an empty stomach in the early morning with three mithqals of frankincense and ten mithqals of sugar. Then pray two rak'ahs after this drink, reciting in each rak'ah 'Say: He is Allah, the One' fifty times and Surat al-Fatihah fifty times. Then you will be fasting
