Is wearing a ring for necessity or for adornment?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made a ring for necessity.

The Shaykh : Yes

The questioner : Is it restricted to necessity?

The Shaykh : By Allah, some scholars say that it is restricted to necessity, and that it is not made except for necessity, while some said it is made for necessity and adornment. But it seems to me, I do not know if I am imagining something incorrect, it seems to me that the one who makes a ring has something in himself, meaning a bit of swelling, I do not know, am I correct in this or not?

The questioner : I, O Shaykh, feel this feeling like you.

The Shaykh : Yes, it seems to me, I do not know, especially if he puts a stone on it like a head turban, I do not know. In any case, it is not known among us now, and it is not worn. They started wearing what is called the ring, and some scholars said that the ring is taken from the Christians, and that the father blesses the groom, he blesses him, then he puts the ring on the ring finger, then the middle finger, then the index finger, so its origin is taken from the Christians. And this is ugly, meaning the ring, because it has a scent of religion and seeking blessing, meaning it is not just clothing for adornment at marriage, yes.
