Explanation of the author's statement: "As for the third intercession, he intercedes for those who have earned the Fire. This intercession is for him and for the other prophets, the truthful ones, and others. He intercedes for those..."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"As for the third intercession, he intercedes for those who have earned the Fire". The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) intercedes for those who have earned the Fire.
This has two forms: he intercedes for those who have earned the Fire so that they do not enter it, and for those who have entered it so that they are brought out of it.
The intended meaning is the sinners among the believers, not the disbelievers. There is no intercession for the disbelievers, ever. However, Allah grants permission to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) to intercede for the sinners among the believers: for those who have earned the Fire so that they do not enter it, and for those who have entered it so that they are brought out of it.
As for those who have entered it to be brought out of it, the hadiths on this are very numerous, indeed, they are mass-transmitted.
As for those who have earned it so that they do not enter it, this can be inferred from the supplication of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) for the believers with forgiveness and mercy over their funerals, for it is a necessary consequence of that that they do not enter the Fire, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
O Allah, forgive Abu Salamah, raise his rank among those who are guided اللهم اغفر لأبي سلمة، وارفع درجته في المهديين
Sunan Abi Dawud 3118Sahih (Al-Albani)
to the end of the hadith.
So, he intercedes for those who have earned the Fire so that they do not enter it, and for those who have entered it so that they are brought out of it.
This intercession is denied by two groups among the people of innovation: the first group is the Mu'tazilah, and the second group is the Khawarij. This is because the doctrine of the Mu'tazilah and the Khawarij regarding the doer of a major sin is that he is eternally in the Fire of Hell. They consider the one who commits unlawful sexual intercourse to be like the one who associates partners with Allah, and the one who commits unlawful sexual intercourse, steals, drinks intoxicants, kills a soul, and commits every sin, they consider them all equal. For this reason, they do not recognize intercession for those who have earned the Fire, neither for those who have earned it so that they do not enter it, nor for those who have entered it so that they are brought out of it, because their doctrine is that the doer of a major sin is eternally in the Fire. Consequently, intercession does not benefit them, just as it does not benefit the polytheists and others.
He said: "And this intercession is for him and for the other prophets, the truthful ones, and others", meaning that it is not exclusive to him. It is for the prophets, who intercede for the sinners of their people, and for the truthful ones, who also intercede for the sinners of their relatives and other believers, and likewise for others among the righteous, until a man intercedes for his family, his neighbors, and the like. However, this intercession requires three conditions; it requires three conditions. The first condition is the permission of Allah the Exalted in it.
The second condition is His pleasure with the one who intercedes.
The third condition is His pleasure with the one for whom intercession is sought.
The three conditions are gathered in His saying:
And how many angels there are in the heavens whose intercession will not avail at all except [only] after Allah has permitted [it] to whom He wills and approves. وكم من ملك في السماوات لا تغني شفاعتهم شيئا إلا من بعد أن يأذن الله لمن يشاء ويرضى
[An-Najm 53:26]
. Who is He pleased with? The one who intercedes and the one for whom intercession is sought. It is detailed in His saying:
Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? من ذا الذي يشفع عنده إلا بإذنه
[Al-Baqarah 2:255]
this is the permission, and in His saying:
That Day, no intercession will benefit except [that of] one to whom the Most Merciful has given permission and has accepted his word. يومئذ لا تنفع الشفاعة إلا من أذن له الرحمان ورضي له قولا
[Taha 20:109]
, and in His saying:
and they cannot intercede except on behalf of one whom He approves ولا يشفعون إلا لمن ارتضى
[Al-Anbya 21:28]
. The important point is that this type of intercession requires these three conditions.
As for the first, the greatest intercession, it is known that the one for whom intercession is sought is not entirely pleasing to Allah, because the standing place includes both believers and disbelievers. Yes.
He said: "And Allah the Exalted will bring out from the Fire groups of people without intercession", meaning from the sinners among the believers.
