Explanation of the author's statement: "And among the principles of the people of the Sunnah and the community is believing in the miracles granted to the righteous persons (awliya) of Allah"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Then the author moved on to an important issue in which the truth must be distinguished from falsehood, and that is the issue of karamah (miracles granted to the righteous persons), the karamah of the awliya. Are they a confirmed reality, or are they a matter of illusions that have no basis and no reality?
The author says: "And among the principles of the people of the Sunnah and the community is believing in the miracles granted to the awliya of Allah". First, we must know who the awliya are. We do not define the awliya better than Allah defined them when He said:
(62) Unquestionably, [for] the allies of Allah there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve (63) Those who believed أَلا إِنَّ أَوْلِيَاءَ اللَّهِ لا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ * الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا
[Yunus 10:62-63]
It is as if it was asked, "Who are they?" He said:
Those who believed and were fearing Allah الذين آمنوا وَكَانُوا يَتَّقُونَ
[Yunus 10:63]
.
Shaykh al-Islam said: "Whoever is a believer and pious, he is a wali (close friend) of Allah". So if a person believes with his inner self and is pious with his limbs, he becomes a wali of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), because he took charge of Allah and His Messenger and adhered to the Shari'ah of Allah and His Messenger, so he became a wali of Allah.
Wilayah (friendship with Allah) is not by the length of the prayer beads, nor by the size of the turban, nor by the width of the sleeves, nor by the length of the toothpick, nor by the squinting of the eyes, nor by the moving of the lips. Wilayah is only through faith and piety. So if we see a person who says: "I am a wali," and says: "It is permissible for me to marry as many women as I wish, even if it reaches one hundred women," what does this make him?
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : This is a wali of Satan; this is one of the awliya of the devils, not one of the awliya of Allah, because he has no piety. Likewise, the one who says: "I am a wali," and says: "There is no one in the jacket but Allah," I seek refuge in Allah, what does this make him? This is also a wali of Satan. Where is the wilayah? Where is the wilayah from a person who says: "There is no one in the jacket but Allah," his jacket that he is wearing, his jacket that he is wearing, because he holds the view of the unity of existence, like Ibn Arabi, whom they call Muhyi al-Din, and the correct name is Ma Ha'i al-Din, not Muhyi al-Din. The important thing is that wilayah, as Allah explained it, is that whoever is a believer and pious is a wali of Allah.
As for karamah, it is a matter that transcends the ordinary, a matter that transcends the ordinary which Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) performs through the hand of the wali, either to support him or to support the religion, either to support him with a karamah or to support the religion. So the man whose horse Allah brought back to life for him after it died, so that he reached his family. When he reached his family, he said to his son: "O my son, take the saddle off the horse, for it is a stray!" When he took the saddle off the horse, it fell dead, because Allah brought it back to life for him so that it would reach him, so that it would bring him to his family. This is a karamah for the support of the religion, or what?
