Introduction to the Awliya of Allah and Their Miracles

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
After this, a message was sent by a listener: Mubarak Daf' Allah Ali 'Aani, a Sudanese. Our brother has some issues he is asking about. He says: There are some people who do not acknowledge the miracles (karamat) of the awliya (close friends of Allah). Is there any guidance regarding them? May Allah reward you with good. And how should one acknowledge the miracles of the awliya? May Allah guide you.

Answer:
The awliya are the people of faith; they are those who believe in Allah and His Messenger. The messengers and their followers are the awliya of Allah. Allah the Exalted said:
Unquestionably, [for] the allies of Allah there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieveأَلا إِنَّ أَوْلِيَاءَ اللَّهِ لا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
[Yunus: 62]. Then He, the Exalted, said:
Those who believed and were fearing Allahالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَكَانُوا يَتَّقُونَ
[Yunus: 63]. So the awliya of Allah are His beloved ones, and they are the messengers and their followers who are steadfast upon the truth. They have miracles (karamat); in the case of the prophets, they are called prophetic miracles (mu'jizat), and in the case of the awliya, they are called miracles (karamat). This means a violation of the natural order for the sake of a proof or a need. It is either to establish a proof by manifesting the truth, or due to a need that befalls them, such as poverty or something else. In that case, Allah makes things easy for them to help them through causes that violate the natural order. For example, the story of the People of the Cave when Allah put them to sleep for a long time, then revived them, and protected them from the evil of their enemies.
And like the story of 'Abbad ibn Bishr and Usayd ibn Hudayr, when they came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at night and then left him on a dark night, their whips illuminated with light for them until they reached their homes. This is among the signs of Allah.
And in the story of al-Thufl ibn 'Amr al-Dusi, when he embraced Islam and asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for a sign for his people, perhaps they would be guided, he supplicated to Allah for him, and Allah made a sign of light between his eyes for him. He said: "O my Lord! In something other than this." So Allah made it in his whip; when he raised it, it became a great light, a sign for his people, perhaps they would be guided. So Allah guided them through His means. And there are examples like this. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah bless you.
