Ruling on exiting the state of ihram for 'Umrah out of necessity

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: A man and his wife traveled by plane with the intention of performing 'Umrah. When they arrived in Jeddah, the woman fell ill at the airport, and they did not stay long before returning to Riyadh on the same day, without performing their rituals. Given that they made a condition when they declared their intention for 'Umrah, is there any sin on them for this? May Allah reward you with good, and what is required of them?

Answer: In the name of Allah, and praise is to Allah. If they made a condition when entering the state of ihram, saying, "If something prevents us, our place of exiting is where we are prevented," or words to that effect, then they may exit the state of ihram and owe nothing; because of the illness that makes it difficult for the woman to perform the rituals of 'Umrah. This is based on what is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said to Subay'ah bint al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with her) when she said, "O Messenger of Allah, I intend to perform Hajj and I am ill," he said:
Enter Into the state of Ihram on condition that you would abandon it when Allah would detain you.حجي واشترطي: أن محلي حيث حبستني
