Reading the statement of Imam al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) regarding what he transmitted: "

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: The author (may Allah have mercy on him) quoted: "From Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) told us two matters. I have seen one, and I am waiting for the other. He told us that trust (al-amanah) was sent down to the roots of men's hearts, then the Qur'an was sent down, so they learned from the Qur'an and learned from the Sunnah. Then he told us about the lifting of trust, saying: A man will sleep a sleep, and trust will be taken from his heart, leaving its mark like a burn. Then he will sleep another sleep, and trust will be taken from his heart, leaving its mark like the mark of a blister, like a coal that your foot rolled over and it burst, so you see it raised but there is nothing in it. Then he took a pebble and rolled it over his foot. People will wake up trading with one another, and hardly will anyone fulfill trust, until it is said: 'In the family of so-and-so there is a trustworthy man.' Until it is said of a man: 'How handsome he is, how witty he is, how intelligent he is,' but there is not in his heart the weight of a mustard seed of faith. And indeed, a time came when I did not care whom of you I traded with; if he was a Muslim, his faith would compel him to fulfill his trust, and if he was a Christian or a Jew, his trade would compel him to fulfill his trust. But as for today, I would not trade with any of you except so-and-so and so-and-so" Agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
