The Ruling on Slaughter upon Arriving at the Pools of Solomon, son of David

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: In southern Jordan, there are mineral waters known as the Pools of Solomon, son of David. People visit them to bathe and seek healing, and they bring animals with them to slaughter upon their arrival. What is the ruling on slaughtering such animals? Please inform us, may Allah reward you and grant you the best reward.

Answer: If the water mentioned is tested and known to be beneficial for certain diseases, there is no harm in that, for Allah the Exalted has made some waters beneficial for certain diseases. If it is known through experience that this water is beneficial for specific diseases, such as rheumatism or others, there is no harm in that. As for the animals slaughtered there, if they are slaughtered for their need, for eating, or for guests, there is no harm in that. However, if they are slaughtered for some other purpose, such as seeking nearness to the water, or seeking nearness to the jinn, or seeking nearness to the prophets, or similar corrupt beliefs, this is not permissible. For Allah the Exalted says:
Say, "Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds.قُلْ إِنَّ صَلاتِي وَنُسُكِي وَمَحْيَايَ وَمَمَاتِي لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ۝
[Al-An'am 6:162]
no partner has He [Al-An'am: 162-163]. And He says:
Indeed, We have granted you, [O Muhammad], al-Kawthar.
[Al-Kawthar 108:1]
So pray to your Lord and sacrifice [Al-Kawthar: 1-2].
So slaughter is for Allah, and the rites of worship are for Allah, and prayer is for Allah. No one has the right to slaughter for the jinn, or for a certain star, or for a certain planet, or for a certain water, or for a certain prophet, or for any person. Rather, all drawing near is to Allah alone (Glorified and Exalted is He) through slaughters, prayers, and other acts of worship, as He the Exalted said:
It is You we worship and You we ask for help.
[al-Fatihah:5] and He the Exalted said:
And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth
[al-Bayyinah:5] and as He (peace and blessings be upon him) said::
So worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion.
[Az-Zumar 39:2]
Know that the religion is purely for Allah[al-Zumar:2-3].
Slaughter is among the most important and best of acts of worship. If the intention behind these animals is eating, because they are sitting there, and they slaughter them for food and need, there is no harm. But if the slaughter is for another matter or another intention; whether for the sake of the place, or they slaughter for the sake of the water, or for the sake of the jinn, or for the sake of an angel they intend, or a prophet they intend and seek nearness to, or any person, or any planet, or any idol, or any statue, this is all shirk (associating partners with Allah), Mighty and Majestic is He. So one must be cautious, and Allah is the Helper. It is authentically reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
Allah cursed him who sacrificed for anyone besides Allah
Sahih Muslim 1978b
Al-Imam Muslim narrated it in his Sahih from the hadith of Ali, the Commander of the Faithful (may Allah be pleased with him).
