Ruling on seeking healing with a specific water and slaughtering animals at its site

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Our brother says: There are mineral waters in southern Jordan, which are called: The Pools of Sulayman ibn Dawud. People visit them for recreation and healing, and they bring sacrificial animals with them to slaughter upon their arrival. What is the ruling on slaughtering such animals? Please inform us, may Allah reward you, and may He reward you with the best reward?

Answer:
If the water mentioned is tested and known to be beneficial for certain diseases, then there is no harm in that; because Allah has made some waters beneficial for certain diseases. So, if it is known through experience that this water is beneficial for certain specific diseases, such as rheumatism or others, then there is no harm in that.
As for the sacrificial animals, there is a detail to consider: If they are slaughtered for the sake of their need and their eating, and for their guests, then there is no harm in that. But if they are slaughtered for some other purpose, for the sake of drawing near to the water, or drawing near to the jinn, or drawing near to the prophets, or similar corrupt beliefs, then this is not permissible; because Allah the Exalted and Sublime says:
Say, "Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds.قُلْ إِنَّ صَلَاتِي وَنُسُكِي وَمَحْيَايَ وَمَمَاتِي لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ۝
[Al-An'am 6:162]
NO PARTNER HAS HE [Al-An'am: 162, 163].
And He the Exalted says:
Indeed, We have granted you, [O Muhammad], al-Kawthar.
[Al-Kawthar 108:1]
SO PRAY TO YOUR LORD AND SACRIFICE [Al-Kawthar: 1, 2] So the slaughter is for Allah, the worship is for Allah, and the prayer is for Allah. So no one should slaughter for the jinn, or for a certain planet, or a certain star, or a certain water, or a certain prophet, or any person. Rather, all drawing near is to Allah alone, the Exalted and Sublime, through the sacrificial animals, the prayers, and the rest of the acts of worship. Allah the Exalted says:
It is You we worship and You we ask for help.
[Al-Fatihah: 5], and He the Exalted says:
And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion
[Al-Bayyinah: 5], and He the Exalted says:
So worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion.
[Az-Zumar 39:2]
BEWARE! TO ALLAH ALONE BELONGS THE PURE RELIGION [Az-Zumar: 2, 3].
And slaughter is among the most important acts of worship and among the best of acts of worship. So, if the intention behind these sacrificial animals is eating, because they are sitting there, and they slaughter them for eating and need, then there is no harm. But if the slaughter is for another matter and another intention; either for the sake of the place, or the matter of the water for the sake of the water, or for the sake of the jinn, or for the sake of an angel from the angels whom they intend, or a prophet from the prophets whom they intend, and they draw near to him, or any person, or any planet, or any idol, or any false god, all of this is shirk (associating partners with Allah). So one must be cautious, and Allah is the Helper. And the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Allah cursed him who sacrificed for anyone besides Allah
Sahih Muslim 1978b
.
Imam Muslim recorded it in his Sahih from the hadith of 'Ali, the Commander of the Faithful (may Allah be pleased with him).
