The ruling on a woman dyeing her hair

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
You are asking about dyeing hair for a woman: is it permissible or not?

Answer:
It is prescribed for her to change the gray hair. When a woman or a man turns gray, it is prescribed for both of them to change it, changing the gray hair to yellow or red, not to black; because of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Change this gray hair and avoid black.غيروا هذا الشيب واجتنبوا السواد
and his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
The Jews and the Christians do not dye (their hair), so differ from them.إن اليهود والنصارى لا يصبغون فخالفوهم
Sunan Ibn Majah 3621Sahih (Darussalam)
.
So the man dyes and the woman dyes, but not with black, rather with red or yellow, or with henna and katam, which is between black and red and does not become pure black. As for the other dyes that people use to dye hair, some women dye their hair for beauty and adornment, it is safer to leave them, as a precaution. Yes.
