Ruling on one who is unable to perform Hajj due to advanced age

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
We return at the beginning of this episode to a message sent to the program from the Tunisian Republic, sent by a brother of ours from there. He says, “Your brother in Allah, Yusuf Miftah.” We presented a question for Brother Yusuf in a previous episode, and in this episode he asks your Eminence and says: “My grandfather is an elderly shaykh who is unable to move, and he possesses a great deal of wealth, praise be to Allah, and it has not been written for him to perform Hajj to the House of Allah. So, if he enables a poor person to perform Hajj from his own money, is that Hajj counted for him? May Allah reward you with good.”

Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and peace upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon whoever follows his guidance.
If this man is unable to perform Hajj due to his advanced age, and he cannot perform Hajj by car or by airplane, then he must appoint a proxy; he should give money from his wealth to a trustworthy person of good character so that he may perform Hajj on his behalf with his money. It is established regarding him (peace and blessings be upon him) that a woman asked him, saying:
O Messenger of Allah! My father is an old man who cannot sit firmly on a mount. Should I perform Hajj on his behalf? He said: Perform Hajj on behalf of your father.يا رسول الله! إن أبي شيخ كبير، لا يثبت على الراحلة، أفأحج عنه؟ قال: حجي عن أبيك
And Abu Razin al-'Uqayli asked him, saying:
My father is an old man who cannot perform Hajj, nor can he travel. Should I perform Hajj on his behalf? He said: Perform Hajj on behalf of your father and perform 'Umrah.إن أبي شيخ كبير لا يستطيع الحج، ولا الظعن، أفأحج عنه؟ قال: حج عن أبيك واعتمر
So, praise be to Allah. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
