The factors that aid in memorizing the Qur'an and preventing its forgetting

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
After this, a message from one of the female listeners. The sender (M. K.) asks and says: Is there a supplication, or a hadith reported from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that I can recite before reading the Noble Qur'an to help me with memorization and prevent forgetting?

Answer:
Yes, it is prescribed to seek refuge in Allah from Satan. Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) said:
So when you recite the Qur'an, [first] seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the expelled [from His mercy].فَإِذَا قَرَأْتَ الْقُرْآنَ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
[Surah al-Nahl: 98]. So when a person wants to read, he says:
I seek refuge in Allah the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing, from the cursed Shaitan, from his madness, his arrogance, and his poetry.أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم من همزه ونفخه ونفثه
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 242Hasan (Darussalam)
then he reads. If he is starting from the beginning of a surah, he says: In the name of Allah, along with seeking refuge, he says: In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. He seeks refuge, then he mentions the name. But if he is in the middle of a surah, he seeks refuge in Allah, and that is sufficient. If he mentions the name, there is no blame on him. Seeking refuge is sufficient, except for Surah al-Bara'ah, where he begins it with seeking refuge. All of this is among the means of safety from Satan and among the means of safety from forgetting, along with paying attention to reflection and understanding. One should realize that this Qur'an is the speech of Allah. He should be aware that this is the speech of Allah, containing commands and prohibitions, explaining what Allah has legislated and what Allah loves, explaining what Allah has forbidden, explaining the characteristics of the righteous and the characteristics of the wicked. He should keep this in mind... this Qur'an, and its command is great, so that he may magnify it, and so that laziness and drowsiness may stay away from him when he realizes the greatness of this great book, and that it is the speech of the Lord of the worlds. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
