The aggregate that has reached the lunar year of possession

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A listener sent a message saying: (S. A.) from Arar says: I set aside a portion of my salary, and the lunar year of possession passed over it. I spent a portion of this money before the lunar year had passed, and another portion remained with me. Do I have to pay zakah on the remaining money? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
You must pay the zakah on the remaining money that has reached the lunar year of possession, provided it reaches the minimum threshold for zakah, which is more than fifty-six riyals. If it reaches the minimum threshold, you must pay the zakah, which is one-quarter of a tenth, or twenty-five out of every thousand. The amount you paid out before the lunar year was completed has no zakah due on it, such as what you spent on your household needs, or used to pay off a debt before the lunar year was completed; there is no zakah on that. But what remained until the lunar year was completed; you must pay its zakah, seeking the pleasure of Allah and fulfilling the right that is due to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
