The ruling on a woman riding alone with a driver for a short duration

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner, Umm 'Abd al-Majid from Jeddah, says: I go to a Qur'an memorization group, and when returning home, I ride with the driver along with some of my sisters in Allah, and then each one goes to her home, and I remain alone with the driver. The distance takes about five minutes until I reach my home. Is this seclusion, O Shaykh? We ask for your guidance?

Answer:
It is obligatory for the believing woman to avoid seclusion with a non-mahram man, whether in a car or elsewhere. There is no doubt that a woman sitting with a man for five minutes, or less, or more, alone is seclusion. So it is obligatory to look into the matter, and that you all get out, or that two remain and get out together, so that safety from seclusion is achieved; due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
A man should not be alone with a woman, for Satan is the third among them.لا يخلون رجل بامرأة فإن الشيطان ثالثهما
Al-Mustadrak lil-Hakim 2:94
, he (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade seclusion except with a mahram.
So it is obligatory for the woman to be careful in this matter, and to strive to comply, and to beware of falling into what Allah has forbidden in the car and elsewhere. Yes.
