The Ruling on Attributing Will to Divine Decree

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
We often read in books and magazines articles containing phrases such as "a mockery of fate," "the foolishness of fate," or "fate willed it." Are these phrases correct, and what do you advise those who use them in their writings? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
In the name of Allah, and praise is to Allah. For a person to say, "a mockery of fate" or "the foolishness of fate," is a reprehensible statement; rather, it is disbelief, misguidance, and mockery of the divine decree of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He).
As for some people saying, "fate willed it," "fate willed it," "the will of Allah willed it," or "the care of Allah," this is not permissible and contains poor expression. The correct thing is to say, "Allah the Exalted willed it," or "Our Lord the Exalted willed it," or similar phrases that attribute the will to Allah, not to His attributes.
