Purchasing gifts and travel necessities after the farewell tawaf

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question from Zayn al-Din asks: If a person performs the farewell tawaf, it is not permissible for him to buy anything. But what is meant by this "anything"? Is it specifically items for trade, or does it include a person's needs such as gifts for family and friends, and the furniture he needs for his trip?
Answer: The Sunnah is for the farewell tawaf to be the last thing. When a person has finished everything and is done with all his tasks, he performs the tawaf of farewell. This is the best course of action; it should be the final thing, where he bids farewell to the House and then leaves to travel. However, if he bids farewell and then buys some necessities, such as provisions for the journey, gifts, or the like, there is no blame on him. If he engages in trade, some scholars hold that he should repeat the tawaf, but this is not a good position. If he buys goods for trade and it does not delay him, and he is on his way, the correct view is that this does not affect his status, just as if he bought a need for himself or gifts. None of this has an impact, as long as he is on his way or only a short time has passed since the tawaf without him delaying significantly. In that case, it does not harm him, his tawaf is valid, and he is not required to repeat the tawaf. Yes.
