We performed the obligatory Hajj last year and carried out the rites of Hajj with complete ease and simplicity, but before performing the farewell tawaf, we wanted to buy some

The questioner : The questioner says: We performed the obligatory Hajj last year, and praise be to Allah, and we carried out the rites of Hajj with complete ease and simplicity, and we praise Allah for that. But before performing the farewell tawaf, we wanted to buy some necessities from Makkah. However, someone read a fatwa stating that there is no harm in buying any necessities or supplies from Makkah after the tawaf. So we hastened to perform the farewell tawaf and then went to buy those supplies, knowing that this did not take us more than a third of an hour. Do we have any obligation in this matter? We ask for clarification. May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : It is better for the farewell tawaf to be the last thing, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
None of you should depart, or he said: None of you, until his last connection with the House is لا ينصرف أحد منكم أو قال: أحدكم حتى يكون آخر عهده بالبيت
However, the scholars (may Allah have mercy on them) granted a dispensation for a person to buy a need related to his travel or related to his needs upon his arrival in his homeland, such as the gifts that pilgrims buy for their families, even if that is after the farewell tawaf. But if he buys for trade, he must repeat the tawaf; this is what the people of knowledge said. Nevertheless, we say that it is better to buy these things before his tawaf so that his last connection with the House is the tawaf.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
