Question:
He says: Your Eminence, I hope you will direct me to some books that I can read so that I may benefit from them and they may benefit me in matters of my religion and my worldly affairs? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
I advise you to take care of the Book of Allah, the Qur'an, for it is the greatest book, the most noble book, and the most truthful book. So I advise you and all Muslims, men and women, to take care of the Qur'an, to recite it frequently, to reflect on its meanings, and to ask about whatever is difficult for you. Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) said: :
[This is] a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be reminded.كِتَابٌ أَنزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَارَكٌ لِيَدَّبَّرُوا آيَاتِهِ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُوْلُوا الأَلْبَابِ
[Surah Sad: 29] And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Recite the Qur'an; for it will come as an intercessor for its people on the Day of Resurrectionاقرؤوا القرآن؛ فإنه يأتي شفيعًا لأصحابه يوم القيامة
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The best among you is he who learns and teaches the Qur'an.خيركم من تعلم القرآن وعلمه
Sunan Abi Dawud 1452Sahih (Al-Albani)
So we advise all our Muslim brothers to take care of the Qur'an through recitation, reflection, and acting upon it, for the intended goal is action; recitation and reflection are means to action, and the intended goal is action. So we advise everyone to recite it frequently with reflection, understanding, and action, and to ask the people of knowledge about whatever is difficult for you, and to review the well-known, good books of tafsir if you are able to do so, such as the tafsir of Ibn Jarir, al-Baghawi, Ibn Kathir, and al-Shawkani. These are beneficial books.
And among the beneficial books are the two Sahihs: al-Bukhari and Muslim, if you are able to do so, if you have knowledge and insight. And among the beneficial books are also the books of the people of the Sunnah; the books of the people of the Sunnah contain much good, such as the Muwatta of Malik (may Allah have mercy on him), the four Sunans. All of these are... books of hadith, books of the people of the Sunnah.
Also, the books of the well-known scholars of good and beneficial knowledge, such as al-Mughni by Ibn Qudamah (may Allah have mercy on him) and al-Muqni' by him as well, Sharh al-Muhadhdhab by al-Nawawi, al-Rawdah by al-Nawawi, beneficial books... al-Bidayah by Ibn Rushd, and similar beneficial books.
And among the books of 'aqidah are the books of the Salaf, and among them are the books of Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him); they are beneficial books, such as al-Hamawiyyah, al-Tamimiyyah, and al-Wasitiyyah. The books of Shaykh Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab (may Allah have mercy on him) are beneficial, such as the book of Tawhid, Kashf al-Shubuhat, and Thalaathat al-Usul, and so on. Also, Sharh al-Tawhid by his grandson Shaykh 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Hasan, and his second grandson Shaykh Sulayman ibn 'Abdullah, Fath al-Majid by Shaykh 'Abd al-Rahman, and Taysir al-'Aziz al-Hamid by Shaykh Sulayman. These are great and beneficial books, so we advise taking care of them. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
