The reward for the deceased and for the one who dedicates the reward of charity

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He says: If my father has passed away, and I want to give charity on his behalf as a continuous charity, will its reward be for him, or for me?

Answer:
If you give charity on his behalf as a continuous charity, it will be for you and for him; he gets a reward and you get a reward. If you give charity on his behalf with money you pay on his behalf, or with a house you endow for him, or a shop, or a date palm, or land whose produce is spent on the interests of the Muslims, or on the poor, or on the maintenance of mosques, or on teaching the Qur'an, all of this is good. He gets the reward for that, and you have a reward in this endowment. And Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, has vast bounty; His bounty is vast. He gives you a great reward, and He gives your father. The charity reaches the father. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased).إذا مات ابن آدم؛ انقطع عمله إلا من ثلاث: صدقة جارية، أو علم ينتفع به، أو ولد صالح يدعو له
Riyad as-Salihin 1383
.
And he was asked—peace and blessings be upon him—about a man who asked another man, saying: "O Messenger of Allah! My mother died and she did not leave a bequest. Will she get a reward if I give charity on her behalf?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

So, my brother, give charity on behalf of your parents and your Muslim relatives, and be glad of good. You have a reward in the endowment and in other things. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
