What is the ruling on praying at home on the pretext of the laxity of women and children?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A message from one of the listening brothers, in which he asks your Eminence, saying: What is the ruling on one who prays the five daily prayers at home with his sons and daughters, on the pretext that women are lax in performing the prayers in his absence when he goes to the mosque, even though he hears the call to prayer? And what is the ruling on the male children whom he prevents from going to the mosque, despite their desire to pray in congregation, but they fear their father?

Answer:
It is obligatory for him to fear Allah, and to pray in the mosque, he and his sons. As for the women, he should teach them to pray before him, or after him, before he goes, or after he goes. The matter is broad—praise be to Allah—in that they are able to pray after his return from the congregational prayer, as the time is ample, or while he is going to the congregation.
The point is: that this is not an excuse. The women know, and they must be emphasized in performing the prayer, and this is their obligation. Prayer is the pillar of Islam for everyone, for men and women. Whoever abandons it is a disbeliever; we ask Allah for safety.
And it is obligatory for him to pray in the mosque, and his male sons; this is what is obligatory for him; due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whoever hears the call for prayer and and does not come (to the mosque for prayer), his prayer will not be accepted from him, unless he has a (legitimate) excuse.من سمع النداء، فلم يأت؛ فلا صلاة له إلا من عذر
Bulugh al-Maram 2:308
It was asked of Ibn Abbas: What is the excuse? He said: Fear, or illness. And in the authentic hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), a blind man came to him and said: O Messenger of Allah! I have no guide to the mosque to lead me, so do I have a dispensation to pray in my house? So he said to him (peace and blessings be upon him):
Do you hear the call to prayer?هل تسمع النداء بالصلاة؟
Sahih Muslim 653
He said: Yes. He said:
Then respond.فأجب
And in a narration:
I do not find any permission for you.لا أجد لك رخصة
Sunan Abi Dawud 552Hasan Sahih (Al-Albani)
He says (peace and blessings be upon him) to this blind man: that he does not find for him a dispensation, and he says to him: I do not find, how about the seeing one who is in good health?!
And it is established in the two authentic collections also from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
I was thinking of commanding that the call to prayer be given, then I would tell a man to lead the people in prayer, then I would go out with some other men carrying bundles of wood, and go to people who do not attend the prayer, and burn their houses down around themقد هممت أن آمر بالصلاة، فتقام، ثم آمر رجلًا، فيؤم الناس، ثم أنطلق برجال معهم حزم من حطب إلى رجال لا يشهدون الصلاة، فأحرق عليهم بيوتهم
Sunan Ibn Majah 791Sahih (Darussalam)
This indicates the greatness of the matter, and that those who abandon the congregational prayer are deserving of punishment.
So my advice to this man, and his sons, is to fear Allah, and to pray with the congregation, and to beware of the punishment of Allah and His anger. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
