Ruling on eating meat slaughtered for the people of graves
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This is a questioner for the program Al-Haqq who sent a set of questions. He resides in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He says in this question: Is it permissible to eat the meat of cattle or sheep that are slaughtered at a grave, where the person intentionally slaughters for the one in the grave? Please guide us in light of this question?
Answer:
What is slaughtered for other than Allah is carrion; it becomes carrion. What is slaughtered for the people of graves, or for idols, or for the jinn, becomes carrion, and it is not permissible to eat it. Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Ma'idah: 3]. What is slaughtered for other than Allah is carrion—may Allah keep us safe from it—and its owner is one who associates partners with Allah, and he must repent to Allah the Exalted. So slaughtering for other than Allah is shirk (associating partners with Allah), and he must repent to Allah and return to Him. The slaughtered animal is haram (forbidden). May Allah keep us safe from it.
