The ruling on praying behind a man who eats what was slaughtered for other than Allah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 3535 ):
Q2: What is the ruling on praying behind a man who eats what was slaughtered for other than Allah and argues that when slaughtering he mentioned the name of Allah over the animal?
A: Slaughter for other than Allah is shirk (associating partners with Allah), and the ruling on the slaughtered animal is the ruling on carrion. It is not permissible to eat it, even if the name of Allah is mentioned over it, if it is confirmed that it was slaughtered for other than Allah. If a person ate from it based on his own independent legal reasoning, the ruling should be clarified to him. If a person ate from it after knowing the ruling, he should not be an imam; rather, one should seek to pray behind someone else. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
