How should one deal with those who contradict the Sunnah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
If some people contradict the Sunnah, is it obligatory for us to advise them? And how should the advice be given?

Answer:
Advice should be given with gentleness. You advise him with gentleness, you teach him. If you see him letting his garment hang below the ankles, you advise him. If you see him not licking his fingers, you teach him. If you see him eating with his left hand, you teach him. If you see him doing other things that do not conform to the Shari'ah, you advise him, but with kind words and a good manner, as our Lord (Glorified and Exalted is He) said: :
Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is bestادْعُ إِلَى سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالْمَوْعِظَةِ الْحَسَنَةِ وَجَادِلْهُمْ بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ
[Surat al-Nahl: 125].
Q: Should advice be given in private or publicly?
A: It depends on the situation. If he is among people, keep it between you and him. If it is just between you and him, you may raise your voice. If you are among people, keep it private so that you do not become a cause for the advice to be rejected; so that it may be more acceptable.
