The Relationship of Melody to the Recitation of the Noble Qur'an

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A question in the sciences of the Qur'an: What is the relationship of melody and tunes to the voices of the Noble Qur'an?

Answer:
The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) encouraged the community to beautify their voices with the Qur'an; because that is more beneficial for the community and has a stronger impact on hearts; for this reason, it came in the authentic hadith, he said -peace and blessings be upon him-:
He who does not chant the Qur'an is not one of usليس منا من لم يتغن بالقرآن يجهر به
Sunan Abi Dawud 1469Sahih (Al-Albani)
And he said:
Adorn the Qur'an with your voicesزينوا القرآن بأصواتكم
Because beautifying the voice, and improving the voice in recitation, allows the Qur'an to enter the hearts, and the hearts to be affected by hearing the verses of Allah, unlike the unpleasing voice, for that repels from listening to the Qur'an, and leads to turning away from the reciter.
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by Abu Musa -al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) one night while he was reciting, so he listened to him, and his voice pleased him -peace and blessings be upon him-, so when he saw him in the daytime, he informed him -peace and blessings be upon him- and said: "If I had known that you were listening, I would have adorned it for you with adornment." And he used to say (peace and blessings be upon him) when he heard his voice:
This man has been given a Mizmar among the Mazamir of the family of Dawudلقد أوتي هذا مزمارًا من مزامير آل داود
Sunan an-Nasa'i 1021Sahih (Darussalam)
meaning: a beautiful voice, yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, another question in roughly the same topic, is there a difference between the elongation of tajwid and the elongation of tartil?

The Shaykh: The elongation of tajwid is the elongation of tartil; it is not permissible for it to exceed that. If one stretches it out in an unlegislated manner, that is not allowed, but its elongation should be restricted to what the scholars of tajwid mentioned, in the natural and the non-natural. He should observe the rulings mentioned by the imams of tajwid and the reciters so that his recitation is not excessive and boring, yes.

The presenter: Yes, may Allah reward you with good.
