What is the ruling on one who omits a verse from al-Fatihah in prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A man prayed with a congregation of Muslims, but while reciting al-Fatihah he passed over a verse, and no one corrected him. Is his prayer valid?

Answer:
No, it is obligatory for him to perform a rak'ah in place of the rak'ah from which he omitted the verse. He performs another rak'ah in place of that rak'ah. If the rak'ah was missed and he was not corrected, and he remembers it, he performs another rak'ah. If it was the fourth rak'ah of Maghrib, or the fifth of Zuhr, or the third of Fajr. This is because reciting al-Fatihah is a pillar of the prayer, and it is necessary to do so. He also performs the prostration for forgetfulness.
