The ruling on one who performed Hajj but was unable to slaughter the sacrificial animal due to lack of money

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A man performed Hajj this year as a mutamatti', then he lost his money during the days of Hajj, so he was unable to slaughter the sacrificial animal, and he did not fast in Makkah. Then he returned to Riyadh, and he is asking now what is required of him?

Answer:
He has to fast ten days in Riyadh, and that suffices for the sacrificial animal, unless he wishes to offer the sacrifice now, if he is able to send his sacrificial animal to Makkah and have it slaughtered there; that suffices for the fasting. And if he fasts; there is nothing wrong with it; because the consideration is his state at the time the obligation became due. So if at that time he was unable, and had lost his money; then fasting suffices for him, unless if he fasts here, it suffices for him.
And just as it is recommended to distribute the fasting, he should fast three days during Hajj, at the very least in the last three days, the days of Tashriq. This is what is obligatory for him with the ability. As for if he was unable, and was able to fast; he fasts the three with the seven, making ten which he fasts. And if the sacrificial animal becomes available for him, and he wishes to send it to Makkah, and not fast; he sends it to Makkah with a trustworthy person, or he travels with it himself, and slaughters it there with the intention of the sacrificial animal, then he eats and feeds others.
