Ruling on a menstruating woman sitting in the mosque

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q118: The questioner asks: Is it permissible for a menstruating woman to sit in the mosque solely to attend lessons?
A118: It is not permissible for a menstruating woman to sit in the mosque while she is menstruating, due to the prohibition of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding that. However, if she passes through to obtain a need, there is no harm. Allah the Exalted said:
or in a state of janabah, except those passing through [a place of prayer]وَلاَ جُنُبًا إِلاَّ عَابِرِي سَبِيلٍ
[An-Nisa 4:43]
, so there is nothing wrong with that. As for sitting, it is not permissible for her to sit in the mosque while menstruating, neither for lessons nor for anything else.
