The ruling on a menstruating woman or a person in a state of major ritual impurity entering the mosque

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
You ask and say: Is it permissible for a menstruating woman to enter the mosque? And if the bleeding has stopped but she has not yet performed the full ritual bath, what is the ruling?
Answer: If the entry is for a need, taking a need from the mosque, taking a prayer mat from the mosque, taking a cane, taking sandals, taking a need from the mosque, there is no harm. As for sitting in it, she does not sit. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to 'A'ishah:
Hand me the khumrah - the mat on which one prays, a prayer mat - she said: O Messenger of Allah! I am menstruating. He said: Your menstruation is not in your hand.ناوليني الخمرة - الحصير الذي يصلي عليه سجادة- قالت: يا رسول الله! إني حائض قال: إن حيضتك ليست في يدك
So he ordered her to enter and take the khumrah, meaning: the mat, and she was menstruating. And Allah, Mighty and Majestic, said in this meaning:
or in a state of janabah, except those passing through [a place of prayer]وَلا جُنُبًا إِلَّا عَابِرِي سَبِيلٍ
[An-Nisa 4:43]
So Allah permitted the passerby who passes by, takes a need, and passes, whether he is in a state of major ritual impurity, menstruating, or a woman with post-natal bleeding. As for sitting, no. It came in the hadith that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
I do not make the mosque lawful for a menstruating woman and for a person who is sexually defiled.إني لا أحل المسجد لحائض ولا جنب
Sunan Abi Dawud 232Da'if (Al-Albani)
meaning: sitting in it. For this reason, He, Exalted is He, said:
or in a state of janabah, except those passing through [a place of prayer]وَلا جُنُبًا إِلَّا عَابِرِي سَبِيلٍ
[al-Nisa:43]. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
