Q: A weak man who is now sixty years old remembers that he committed a great sin when he was young, not exceeding twenty years of age. His sin was committing a lewd act with an animal, specifically a donkey, with whom he had intercourse during the day in Ramadan, and this was thirty-six years ago when he was young. He has requested a confidential fatwa regarding this great sin, and we are unable to answer
his question or issue a fatwa on it. We ask Allah the Exalted, and then your Eminence, to issue your fatwa and inform us in writing about this matter. We call upon Allah the Most High, the Mighty, to grant you abundant reward and recompense, and to accept repentance from us and from all Muslims. He is the best Master and the best Helper.
A: The person mentioned must make up the day on which the aforementioned act occurred, and feed one poor person for the delay in making up the fast, along with repenting to Allah Mighty and Majestic for what he did.
