Is there a specific age at which an elderly person is exempted from fasting?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 14461 )
Q2: Whatage, when a Shaykh reaches it, makes it permissible for him to break his fast in the blessed month of Ramadan and feed the poor in its place, and what is the method of feeding them? Is it to be done after the end of the matter, or every day?
A2: There is no specific age at which it becomes permissible for an elderly man to break his fast in Ramadan. Rather, the criterion is permanent inability to fast. If a person cannot bear fasting due to his advanced age, it is permissible for him to break his fast and feed one poor person for each day with half a sa' (a dry measure of about 3 kg) of the staple food of the country. If he gives fifteen sa' (a dry measure of about 3 kg) at the beginning of Ramadan, that is also permissible. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
