Found a wallet containing money and divided it with his companion

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 14266 )
Q 1: In approximately 1380 AH, I was walking in the street in the city of Riyadh, with one of my friends, and we found a wallet containing three hundred riyals and four pounds. We divided it between us, so each of us received one hundred and fifty riyals and two pounds. The exchange rate of the pound at that time was approximately forty riyals. My question is: What is my obligation regarding that amount so that I may get rid of it and clear my conscience? Knowing that I did not announce it at that time.
Please inform us, may Allah reward you with the best reward.

A 1: It is obligatory to give in charity an amount equivalent to the mentioned sum to the poor, with the intention that it is on behalf of the owner, along with repentance to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). It was also obligatory for you at that time to announce it for a full year in public gatherings. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
