Q2: What is the ruling on a man who has intercourse with his wife and does not know she is menstruating until after the act ?
A2 : If a man has intercourse with his wife while she is menstruating and he does not know of the menstruation, he commits no sin, but he must pay the expiation, which is giving charity of one dinar or half of it in gold; due to the generality of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Sunan ad-Daraqutni 15:212 It was narrated by Imam Ahmad and the people of the four Sunan collections with a sound chain. It is recommended for the menstruating woman to inform her husband of her menstruation. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
